Purpose: The Remuneration and Benefits consultant is responsible and accountable for the design,
implementation, administration and review of the company’s compensation and benefits practices,
processes and outputs and liaises with the HRBP in ensuring that employees are consulted on such
benefits.
KPI
- Compensation practice management – Evaluate and compare existing remuneration and
benefits to ensure internal and external parity, provide analysis and develop specific.
recommendations for management review.
• Retirement and risk benefit management – Manage and coordinate all administration
pertaining to risk cover (funeral, disability, life cover, executive medicals etc.)
• Manage and coordinate all administration for the medical aid scheme and company insurance
(travel insurance, personal accident cover and dreaded disease).
• Manage workman’s compensation queries.
• Evaluate benefit plans, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance to relevant legislation
and market trends.
• Manage & coordinate the Employee Assistance Program including the annual wellness days.
• Subject matter expert – Provide technical expertise, training and support to HR Business
Partners to effectively service clients and to line as and when required.
• Job Design – Effective management of Manage job design and evaluation process.
• Manage the grading process for the organisation.
• In conjunction with the Payroll Manager, participate in and conduct salary surveys to ensure
corporate compensation objectives are achieved.
• Keep abreast of local compensation laws and regulations in order to ensure company
compliance.
• Supplier relationship management – Manage relationships with all C&B service providers.
• Manage employee wellness programs and events
Qualification and Experience
• Minimum Six (6) years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits.
• Five years’ experience in Job Evaluation – proven track record of leading a job grading project.
• Knowledge in salary benchmark systems such as REMChannel, Payscale would be a benefit
• Working knowledge of MS office
• Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in human resources, employee benefits or related field.
• Accreditation as Chartered Reward Specialist or Reward Specialist by South African Reward
Association …Added advantage.
